I never thought it would be possible to generate electricity at home with a magnet motor. Using an easy to follow guide, me and my son did just that. It started out small and as a simple science project but then it grew and took on a life of its own. Now I am saving up to one third on my energy bill each and every month.

Finding the right plan is the hardest part. We found several sites and some even offered a money back guarantee but that doesn’t include the cost of materials you may buy. Buy the materials can cost a lot and you don’t want them to be wasted.

A crude display but it does drive home how well this could work.

This does get quite technical and involves properties of magnets and how to get them to produce motion in a motor. You also have to be able to build a large enough motor to actually produce electricity to get power to your home. This isn’t a project you are going to be able to complete in a couple of hours.

We started small and I personally feel that’s the best way to go. This way you can get a feel for how things work on a smaller scale. Also you can buy the materials for less money so that not as much is wasted if the smaller version won’t work for you.

Solar panels and wind turbines are great as well. If at all possible, it’s great to have more than one renewable energy source. If you can generate enough electricity then you could get free electricity and maybe even a refund from your energy company. There is also the added benefit of reducing the amount of fossil fuels used.

You too can generate electricity at home with a magnet motor. You should be aware though that this will take some time and money. The good news is that it can pay for itself in the amount it can save on your energy bills.

What started as a science project has led to saving money on my energy bill each month. I found plans on the internet explaining how to generate electricity at home with a magnet motor and decided we would give it a try. We started small but soon we had a motor large enough to cut our energy bill by a third.

I found several plans online but some of them looked more like your typical science experiment. I simply couldn’t afford to waste money on a lot of materials that wouldn’t work when put together. We finally found a site that had what looked like a plan that could actually work and the supplies weren’t all that expensive either.

Magnets don’t simply stick together; they repel as well. The idea behind this machine is that they will repel with enough force to turn a belt which will operate a motor and produce energy. This involves magnets with a lot of force and placing the just right.

The best idea is to start small. If you can build a smaller motor that works then you can buy the materials and try the larger scale motor using the same principles. This may save you a lot of money since the smaller motor will be much cheaper to build.

Solar panels and wind turbines are great as well. If at all possible, it’s great to have more than one renewable energy source. If you can generate enough electricity then you could get free electricity and maybe even a refund from your energy company. There is also the added benefit of reducing the amount of fossil fuels used.

It is well worth your time and money to generate electricity at home with a magnet motor. In coming years it may become imperative that we find alternate energy sources. You can start now with a little time and a small investment.

It is kind of surprising to learn that hardly any people know or perhaps understand what a passive solar power system is. Additionally , they may not understand that there are 2 distinct kinds of passive solar power systems including those that heat and those that cool. To appreciate how a passive solar power system works you can try feeling the effect of passive solar energy by sitting on a winter’s day next to a window that’s facing south. What you are feeling is largely what is often known as passive solar power.

Environmental Considerations

The basis of passive solar electricity system is that it heats or cools according to the environment on the outside. Actually, these systems are getting more popular by the day and many new buildings are being designed in particular to pander to using passive solar electricity. This implies that the building designers had to learn the methodologies that make sure that when the weather is warm outside of the building cools on the interior while the opposite will occur if the weather turn cold.

The only issue with incorporating a passive solar power system is that it needs so much work that you are going to finish up expending as much money and time and effort as you would to build for yourself a new home. Naturally, once the passive solar electricity system has been correctly incorporated the advantages will be enormous and you may also enhance the working of a passive solar power system at any point by adding windows and also skylights to the home in order to harness even more power.

There no doubts the incontrovertible fact that a passive solar electricity system can turn out to be a better choice than the highly well-liked active solar electricity systems and part of the reason behind this is that in the North Hemisphere most heat gain happens in windows facing to the south and also in 30 degrees to the side. With the arrival of more recent materials that are being employed to especially suit the passive solar energy system it has become feasible to get better heating and cooling solutions which make passive solar energy systems a fairly fantastic option to suit all of your energy wants.

Solar thermal energy is a special form of energy generation that involves harnessing the heat acquired from the sun which is then used as a first energy source. This type of energy use is dissimilar than the way other better known solar electricity systems capture and use the sun’s energy, which usually is naturally to get power from the light from the sun’s rays.

by Dan Avella

Today the cost of energy is greater than it has ever been. Nobody likes to see their electricity bill sitting in the mailbox. Many homeowners now search for ways to reduce their annual energy costs. Some people do this by cutting back on the amount of electricity that they use, whereas others use alternative sources to create a proportion of their requirements. One of the best and most reliable forms of alternative energy is wind power. It is not so complicated to make your own wind turbine.

If you decide to install a wind turbine then you will see great financial savings in your energy costs as well as helping to protect the environment. Many people now see wind turbines as a more productive means of alternative energy creation when compared to solar cells and panels. This is because wind turbines can produce electricity 24 hours a day. They do not even need a strong wind. Also, if you have a property that is in a remote location where it is not possible to connect to the national grid, then they are ideal. You can easily learn how to make your own wind turbine and harness household wind power to generate your own electricity.

To make your own turbine you first of all need to acquire the correct materials. These can be purchased from a local hardware store or sourced through the internet. If you have experience at DIY then it will not be a difficult project to complete. With a little skill and a few readily available materials, you can make your own wind turbine and start saving money on your electric bill before you know it.

The necessary parts will include a motor, a mounting, a tower, and blades. Depending upon your energy requirements a turbine can vary in size. Most people will use a 30 volt motor. If you understand aerodynamics you can make the blades from an old PVC pipe otherwise you will have to buy specialised blades. The tower can often be built from a strong piece of metal pipe that needs to be securely fastened.

Other equipment would include an array of batteries to store the power that is generated and a controller that regulates the flow of energy to the batteries. Since it is so simple and relatively inexpensive, ore and more homeowners are learning how to make their own wind turbine. It will help you to save money, reduce pollution and gain independence from the electric grid.

Whenever working with electricity you need to ensure that safety procedures are followed at all times. Any electrical device needs to be protected from water.

Solar energy is a source that’s being tapped into more everyday due to the big benefits that it provides. More people are beginning to be conscious of pollution, global temperature rises, together with the constantly increasing energy bills, and thus, more people are interested today in discovering more to save energy. Here is where you, too, can gain benefit from solar powered ovens.

The Design And Convenience Of Solar Powered Ovens

Solar powered ovens are essentially designed in the form of a box, that has solar cells on the outside to attract the power from the sun. In the solar powered ovens, you can place a dish immediately, just as you do in your own typical range, and expect it to cook at roughly the same time.

We all know that food tastes better when it is baked or sauteed and the convenient part about the solar powered ovens is that you can cook at home and / or while camping too because they’re straightforward to hold along, handle and clean.

Save Money And Have Better Health

obviously the solar powered ovens will save everyone a bunch of money in the long term but will also help you remain healthy as you won’t be polluting the air when camping with standard cooking strategies but you’ll also eat good food that’s baked or sauteed. Solar powered ovens are costly but they’re going to pay for themselves in 2 years if used frequently, and the opportunities are limitless if you’re health and environment conscious.

Beneficial Tips

When cooking in solar powered ovens, it is recommended to use dark, thin dishes in order for them to absorb heat so that the oven will cook the meal faster. Aluminum is also a great conductor of heat and helps bake and roast while preserving the taste and aromas, so, try and use it as much as possible.

Solar powered ovens work the best in the sun, but will preserve the heat and keep your meal warm for hours, so you can serve a hot dinner when ready. Solar powered ovens are safe to use and sturdy ; sometimes they come with a fifteen to twenty year guarantee, in which time they might have saved you a large amount of cash and provided you with healthy, mouth watering meals.

To buy a solar powered stove, check online first to find a store nearest to you and find out more about this new and inventive way in which you are able to save money, improve health and also supply a better place to live for generations to come.

There are numerous green energy alternatives available today that permit people to economize on power bills and also save the environment. Building a green energy home today also implies some government programs can help to back the changes, making the reconstruction even more attractive to home owners. There are many little tips that people can do without doing a reconstruction that will help to make a home a green energy home, such as making the effort to dry clothing outside, turning the thermostat down a few degrees in the winter and up a few degrees in the summer, and more. There also are some green energy home ideas for those whose home is on a farm or ranch, since wind and sun power can be helpful in running pumps for irrigation and other services.

Options

When building a green energy home, the direction the home faces and where the windows are placed has a big influence on the way in which the solar energy panels and other natural power sources can effectively work. A big portion of the roof of the home should be facing south where it can receive sunlight the majority of the time. In this way, the solar energy panels that are inserted in roofing tiles may be employed on that side of the home to create energy for running the appliances in the home.

A solar water heater may also be used to save cash on heating the water for the home. Even if a solar water heater is not used, a water heater that is well insulated and runs efficiently should be used in the home to offset the power cost.

Every green energy home should be well insulated so that the heating or air that is used in the home can be kept there rather than leaking out thru the cracks in the walls and windows. Placing the windows and the roof overhangs correctly in a green energy home is also important since it permits the sunlight to be employed in the winter to help to heat the home and to keep it out in the summer to keep it cooler. In addition, having plenty of windows in the home provides a lot of lighting in the home so that artificial lighting does not need to be employed in the light hours.

There are also some solar powered lights that may be employed in the home. These lights have a panel that sits by a window in the sunlight so that the light can get left on throughout the night without losing power. There are also outside lighting units that are run solely by solar energy, therefore saving on the energy efficiency of the home.

Where Should I Place My Homemade Solar Panels?

Where Should I Place My Homemade Solar Panels? The 2 most common places to put DIY solar panels are either on the roof of your place, or on the ground in your yard.

The roof has appeared as the most popular location for 2 reasons. First, to convert sunlight into electricity, solar energy panels need a direct line-of-sight between them and the sun. Trees, other buildings, or any other obstacle that provides shade or otherwise gets in the way will block the sun from your homemade solar panels. The simplest way to solve this problem is to raise the solar energy panels up higher than the obstacles. To do that, naturally, you must place the DIY solar panels on the roof.

2nd, solar power panels are massive, and take up plenty of space. Similarly, you’ll probably need more than one to power your entire home. If you mount your homemade solar panels on the ground, you’ll quickly fill your complete yard. Mounting DIY solar panels in the roof instead has the benefit of keeping them out of the way and releasing your yard.

Ground-mounted solar energy panels , however , do have one big advantage : accessibility. It is way easier and safer to stroll out into your yard than on the roof of your house to perform maintenance and repairs to your homemade solar panels. If you live in a part of the country where there are few trees, such as the Great plains or the Southwest, and if you own enough property ( like a farm ) to mount several DIY solar panels and have room to spare, perhaps ground-mounted solar energy panels are the way to go.

What Direction Should I Point My Homemade Solar Panels?

Placing your DIY solar panels completely flat, facing straight up, is the best option. This way, no matter where the sun is in the sky or at what angle, sunlight is still hitting the solar panel somewhere. Unfortunately , however , many houses have angled roofs rather than flat, making the “pointing straight up” option impractical. In this case, mount your DIY solar panels on the south-facing side of your roof to gather the most sunlight. In the continental United States, the sun is in the southern part of the sky for the most part.

How am I able to Build Homemade Solar Panels?

The solution to that query goes way beyond the scope of this brief article. What we will do is point you in the right direction. The simplest and most productive route for you to go is to purchase a step by step instruction manual on how to build DIY solar panels from one of many websites that sell them. These are typically $50 or less, and really worth the money.

Not all instruction manuals for DIY solar electricity panels are the same however. These are some things to look for when shopping online for a good instruction manual :

*Clear, step-by-step Instructions ( instead of just overviews )

*Straightforward, simple English ( instead of confusing technical terms and jargon )

*Multiple, Clear Illustrations ( rather than just text )

*Demonstration Videos ( although not obligatory, they’re very, awfully beneficial )

*Shopping Tips ( for solar cells, deep-cycles batteries, and other hard-to-find items )

*Great Reviews ( from past consumers )

*Price ( more than $60 is too much )

If you can find a fine quality manual, you may start enjoying the advantages of DIY solar panels inside 2 weeks, as the manual should be able to teach you to build homemade solar electricity panels in simply a weekend.

Two, it does not harm our planet through the use of solar power. Most of us shy away from installing solar power solutions at home thinking them to be expensive and cumbersome.

A solar water heating unit.

However, you may be surprised to know how far away from the truth those two statements really are. Solar power will in fact save you money on your electric bill each month. In addition to saving money on your electricity bill, you can also have the satisfaction of knowing that youll be saving the planet from pollution by using solar energy.

A Typical Solar house heater

This article is intended to help you become more acquainted with solar power and its uses

Solar power can be used to cook food. A solar cooker is a cooking mechanism that doesnt need any fuel to cook. It is a small box in which you can cook a meal for up to 5 people. Did you know that you can cook food with solar power? You can boil food, roast, and even bake all kinds of food. A solar cooker doesnt reduce your cooking methods. Stay the versatile chef that you are without sacrificing your meal by using a solar cooker. The only limitation, if it is one, is the time it takes to cook your meal as it takes just a bit longer than typical stoves. However, a solar cooker is still a great option if you are looking to cut down on your energy bill and do your part in saving the environment.

Another use of solar power is the having a solar home lighting system. This is when you have a solar house lighting system that converts solar energy into electrical energy. You maybe asking, But how does that work? There’s no sunlight at night when you need lights the most. This is possible because the energy is stored during the day in cells for use later in the nighttime. The solar energy is stored in the solar cells.

If you were to install a solar lighting system in your house, you may even no longer have to deal with your electric company or electric bill.

You may also be unaware that you can also install a solar powered heating system for you house.

If you are worried that a solar heating system will turn your sweet home into a gadget house or that it will be an expensive investment, your concerns are misplaced. Companies providing solar power solutions for homes make it a point to install aesthetically-pleasing heating systems in your house. As per as expenditure is concerned, investing in a solar heating system is wise because you get a return on your investment within 3-4 years, giving you absolutely free service after that.

by Carson Solis

The dinosaurs died a long time ago, and it won’t be long before the means to supply our energy with the fuel source they left behind will be just as extinct. How we get power going forward must change and evolve, and in the search for alternatives, solar power is one of the solutions that makes a great deal of sense.

We have benefited from the sun’s energy since the beginning, and increasingly we are turning to it once more for help. If you build your own solar panel for use in your home, you’ll be on the crest of a wave toward a viable and sustainable future of energy consumption.

Definition Of A Solar Panel

Electrical power is provided by solar panels as they convert selected wavelengths of sunlight, generating the energy needed to heat and light your home. This technology is not new, but only now has it evolved to be affordable, efficient and more aesthetic. But at $20,000 to $40,000 a pop for professional installation, depending on the home’s size and the panels selected, the average homeowner would do well to consider a good quality DIY kit. These excellent and inexpensive alternatives allow you to build your own solar panels at a fraction of the cost.

Having solar panels doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be completely off the grid. Still having your home receive electrical power can be helpful on those days when the sun is absent, and you want the boost of traditional sources of energy. On sunny days, it’s perfectly possible to generate so much of your own electricity that it goes back onto the grid. Excess electricity can be sold back to the power company, so on sunny days you not only have enough power for yourself, but you can be paid to provide power for other people too!

What Is A Solar Collector?

Solar collectors are a little different from solar panels. Solar collectors function by transforming short wavelengths into long ones. This energy gets stored in the form of heat, which is then transferred into a storage vault for use at a later time.

What Makes A House Solar?

A solar house is one that utilizes the natural, renewable energy coming from the sun. Typically, a solar house will gain more energy than it loses. It makes use of solar collectors, solar panels, strategic location of windows and other greenhouse additions to maximize the efficient use of the sun’s energy.

Solar Living Examples

You can convert your appliances to clean burning propane or natural gas, where lighting and electrons can be powered either partially or entirely by solar energy.

A detached workshop or garage is an excellent first location to build your solar panel system and test for yourself how easy it can be to live off the grid.

Solar power can be used to run your landscape lighting entirely.

Solar cookers allow you to prepare food without using any fuel or electricity, with no compromise in variety or flavor.

You help the environment and your wallet when you build your solar panel system. Look into a DIY solar panel kit today, and be living more independently tomorrow.
